About Dr. Whittall

Professional Background

Heather is a clinical psychologist licensed in the states of Colorado (#3829) and New Mexico (#0111).  She authorized through PsyPACT to practice telepsychology in select other states with established patients who have first been seen in Colorado. For details: https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/psypactmap

Heather attended the University of Denver, completing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) in 2011. Following completion of graduate school training she worked at Kaiser Permanente from 2011 to 2017 helping construct the Developmental Pediatrics and Autism Program. She established Boulder Valley Psychotherapy in 2017 and has remained in private practice full time since.

Professionally, I work to  provide comprehensive support, treatment planning, consultation and psychotherapy. I particularly specialize in working with Autistic teens and young adults, their parents and siblings. I am comfortable collaborating with other providers on your chosen care team. I have worked professionally with neurodivergent individuals since 2009 and I have several neurodivergent family members.

Heather lives in Erie, Colorado with her son and geriatric (but still sprightly) Border Collie. In her spare time she enjoys playing DnD, reading nerdy books and running very slowly.

Interests and Interviews

For a number of years I provided therapeutic gaming groups using Dungeons and Dragons. Unfortunately I am not able to provide those at this time, but I remain a Big Nerd at heart and enjoy telling others about the super-powers of DnD for health and healing. If you'd like to see me talking about TGM work please see the sites below where I was fortunately to be interviewed and participate on panels discussing this work.
